Lip reader reveals Trump’s private 4-word remark to King Charles

Donald Trump and Melania Trump have returned to the United States after their UK state visit, which culminated in a lavish banquet attended by the Royal Family. While both the U.S. president and King Charles delivered official speeches, it was a private comment between the two that has sparked extra attention.

Trump was seated between King Charles and the Princess of Wales during the formal dinner. According to lip reader Jeremy Freeman, the president leaned toward the monarch before the speeches began and expressed his admiration. “It’s so incredible, it’s what you do so well,” Trump told Charles, Freeman told the Mirror.

The banquet capped several days of high-profile engagements, beginning with the Trumps’ arrival in London and their meetings with Prince William and Princess Kate. Cameras captured every step, as the visit marked Trump’s acceptance of King Charles’ invitation, extended last July.

The president described the invitation as the “highest honor” and highlighted what he called the “special relationship” between the United States and the United Kingdom, built on “language, ancestry, and traditions.”

For Trump, the trip carried a personal connection as well. His mother, Mary Anne MacLeod, was born in Scotland, and he has often spoken of feeling a deep bond with the UK. It was reportedly Mary Anne who first sparked his fascination with the Royal Family.

During the banquet, Trump praised not only the king but also his heir. “I just want to say that His Majesty has also raised a remarkable son in His Royal Highness, Prince of Wales. Really amazing. We’ve gotten to know you and I think you’re going to have unbelievable success in the future,” the president said.

He also expressed his admiration for King Charles’ ability to connect with people. “I just stood in line and shook about 150 hands, and the King knew every single person… or at least I think he did because no one was complaining. I was very impressed with that.”

The state visit underscored the close ties between Washington and London — and offered a rare glimpse into the personal rapport between a U.S. president and the British monarch.
