The Duchess of Sussex once again found herself the target of online trolling after posting a short video to her lifestyle brand As Ever’s Instagram Story. In the clip, Meghan is seen preparing a cup of tea beside a plate of shortbread cookies decorated with jam and flowers.
Eagle-eyed viewers quickly spotted what appeared to be a small insect crawling near one of the biscuits before disappearing from sight. Within hours, X users pounced, branding the video “unhygienic.” One critic wrote: “There’s literally a BUG crawling around on the plate! Meghan is so unhygienic.” Another added: “You would think Meghan would notice this BEFORE posting!”

Mixed reactions online
While detractors amplified the moment, others dismissed the outrage as overblown. “God forbid someone sits outside with food in peak summer, and a bug lands on it. Happens to everyone!” one fan countered. Another user pointed out: “In summertime, insects invade kitchens and homes. It’s not that deep.”
Busy with new projects
Despite the criticism, Meghan shows no sign of slowing down. She recently released the trailer for the second season of her Netflix series With Love, Meghan, which launches globally on August 26. The first season, released in March, broke into Netflix’s global top 10, drawing 2.6 million views and over 12 million watch hours in its first week.
Her lifestyle brand As Ever has also enjoyed strong success, with its latest summer product drop selling out almost immediately.
