Surgeon who tried to save Princess Diana’s life finally confirms the rumours

Princess Diana wasn’t just a stunning woman—she was a loving mother and a truly remarkable person. Her beauty, both inside and out, was simply breathtaking. With her warmth and sincerity, she won the hearts of millions, admired for her honesty, kindness, and deep dedication to others.

But her life was far from a fairytale. From the outside, it seemed like she had everything, constantly in the public eye, but her marriage to Prince Charles was troubled from the start. After years of rumors and scandals, they finally divorced in August 1996—just a year before her tragic passing.

Diana’s death sent shockwaves across the world, but no one was more devastated than her sons, Princes William and Harry. The sight of them walking behind her casket at the funeral became an unforgettable image for millions, especially in Britain.

MonSef Dahman, the surgeon on duty at the French hospital that night, later opened up about what really happened and the heartbreaking moments leading up to the loss of the People’s Princess.

“The thought that you have lost an important person, for whom you cared personally, marks you for life,” he told the Daily Mail.

He remembered beginning his shift at 8 a.m. and staying at the hospital through the night. Around 2:06 a.m.—about an hour and a half after Princess Diana’s accident—she was brought in.

“I was resting in the duty room when I got a call from Bruno Riou, the senior duty anesthetist, telling me to head to the emergency room,” Dahman told Daily Mail. “I wasn’t told it was Lady Diana, only that a young woman had been in a serious accident.”

The X-rays revealed severe internal injuries, and Diana was given a blood transfusion. Unfortunately, she then went into cardiac arrest once again. Dr. Dahman attempted surgery, but her heart wouldn’t start. “We tried electric shocks multiple times, along with cardiac massage, just as I had done in the emergency room,” he recalled. “Professor Riou also administered adrenaline, but nothing worked. We couldn’t get her heart beating again.”

“We fought with everything we had. We tried so many things, truly an incredible amount,” he added. “In moments like that, time ceases to exist. The only thing that matters is doing everything possible to save this young woman.”

Even now, Princess Diana remains one of the most deeply mourned figures in history.

A new documentary honoring her extraordinary life is set to premiere soon, and according to The Express, it will reveal new insights about her story.

“There is something almost magical about Princess Diana,” Executive Producer David Glover told The Express. “Despite the struggles in her personal life, she had a rare ability to connect with people and used it to create real change.”

He added, “Her 60th birthday feels like the perfect time to reflect on her life and legacy, and to explore how she went from an ordinary teenager to the most mourned person of all time.”

Diana is missed by many, but no one feels her absence more than her two sons, who loved her unconditionally. They take every opportunity to honor her memory, holding onto the precious moments they shared with her.

“When everybody says ‘she was funny, give us an example’. All I can hear is her laugh,” Harry shared in a 2017 interview with Good Morning America.

He fondly recalled, “She was one of the naughtiest parents, she’d come and watch us play football and smuggle sweet into her socks, literally walking back from a football match and having five packages of [candy]. And just, the whole shirt was full with sweets.”

William also spoke about their mother’s enduring presence, saying, “We felt incredibly loved by her, and I’m very grateful that the love still feels there. It feels like a good time to remember her and hopefully provide a different side.”

Harry added, “It was that love, even though she was on the other side of the room, as her son you could feel it.”

She was determined to give her sons a childhood as normal as possible, always striving to keep them happy and content. To achieve this, she often took them beyond the palace walls—to amusement parks and fast-food spots.

Diana’s former personal chef, Darren McGrady, once recalled a memorable moment, telling Marie Claire: “I remember the princess came into the kitchen one day and said, ‘Cancel lunch for the boys, I’m taking them out, we’re going to McDonald’s.’ And I said, ‘Oh my God – your Royal Highness, I can do that, I can do burgers.’ And she said, ‘No, it’s the toy they want.’”

Had she been alive today, Princess Diana would be 63. Her memory remains cherished, and she will always be deeply missed. May she rest in peace.
