VIDEO: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle break cover to visit LA wildfire victims

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, recently visited victims of the California wildfires in Pasadena as the fires continue to ravage the region.

On January 10, Harry and Meghan were seen at the World Central Kitchen in Pasadena, distributing food and supplies to those affected by the wildfires. During their visit, they expressed gratitude to the first responders, including Los Angeles County firefighters and police, and met with Pasadena Mayor Victor Gordo.

Mayor Gordo told Fox 11 News, “It’s great people, great personalities, and great heart for them to come out here and meet with the first responders, meet with the people who were affected. It’s very important.” He also noted that Harry and Meghan “really buoyed the spirits of the first responders.”

The wildfires in Southern California have tragically claimed eleven lives so far, with officials anticipating the death toll could rise as conditions improve and more areas become accessible for rescue teams.

Previously, Harry and Meghan issued a statement on their website, highlighting the urgency of the situation: “In the last few days, wildfires in Southern California have raged through neighborhoods and devastated families, homes, schools, medical care centers, and so much more – affecting tens of thousands from all walks of life.”

Residing in Montecito, California, the couple also shared links on their Sussex.com website to various charities aiding in the relief efforts, encouraging people to “open their homes” to those who have been evacuated.
