The legendary text-message dispute between Kate Middleton and his “sobbing” wife, Meghan Markle, was once made public by Prince Harry.

The Duke of Sussex talked about the drama surrounding his and Meghan’s 2018 wedding day in his shocking memoir, Spare, which was published in 2023.

According to tabloid rumors at the time of the wedding, Meghan had made Kate cry before the ceremony.

Meghan said it was the other way around in her notorious Oprah interview, but she also said, “I don’t think it’s fair to her to get into the details, because she apologized.” I’ve also forgiven her.

But Harry was more than willing to share the specifics.

The father of two stated in his book that his sister-in-law and his future wife had a falling out over bridesmaid outfits for Kate’s second-eldest. Charlotte, Princess.

Charlotte, Kate and William’s daughter, is scheduled to attend their special day, but Harry said there was a disagreement about how her dress fit.

‘French Couture’ outfits needed to be remade, he remembered Kate telling Meghan just four days before the wedding.

He claims that Kate became irate when Meghan took so long to respond to her.

“Meg didn’t reply to Kate straight away,” says Harry. “Yes, she had endless wedding-related texts, but mostly she was dealing with the chaos surrounding her father. So the next morning she texted Kate that our tailor was standing by.”

“This wasn’t sufficient,” he adds.

Thomas Markle Snr., Meghan’s father, was unable to attend the wedding since he had heart surgery in 2018.

Harry says that Kate later complained: “Charlotte’s dress is too big, too long, too baggy. She cried when she tried it on a[t] home.”

To which Meghan replied: “Right, and I told you the tailor has been standing by since 8am. Here. At KP. Can you take Charlotte to have it altered, as the other mums are doing?”

However, Kate reportedly disagreed, saying: “No, all the dresses need to be remade.”

Harry says: “Meg asked if Kate was aware of what was going on right now. With her father. Kate said she was well aware, but the dresses. And the wedding is in four days!”

To which Meghan snapped back: “Yes, Kate, I know… ”

Harry recalls Meghan telling Kate: “I’m not sure what else to say. If the dress doesn’t fit then please take Charlotte to see Ajay. He’s been waiting all day,” to which Kate replies: “Fine.”

After returning home to the aftermath of the disagreement, Harry says he found Meghan in tears ‘sobbing on the floor’.

Kate reportedly apologized for the misunderstanding the next day by bringing a card and a bouquet of flowers.

The Royal Family declined to address Harry’s accusations in Spare at the time.
