Bride secretly plans touching tribute for her deaf groom – leaves him in tears

There’s just no greater time than a wedding to announce your love for another person.

Since the joining of two connected souls is by definition a once-in-a-lifetime occasion, people typically go to considerable measures to make their wedding day as memorable as possible.

Now, if you’re married, we’re sure you all had a great wedding day, but we just had to highlight one woman in particular and what she did to express her love for her spouse.

This is one of those wedding moments that may bring tears to anyone’s eyes.

Liz Shoesmith uses sign language to communicate with her husband Scott, who lives in Caringbah, Australia. There were a few obstacles they had to overcome on their wedding day because Scott is deaf.

Despite their meticulous planning to ensure a flawless day for themselves and their guests, there was one element Liz kept a secret from her soon-to-be husband, preparing it as a heartfelt surprise.

On their wedding day, Liz paused at the end of the aisle instead of immediately joining Scott at the altar. But don’t worry, this wasn’t a case of cold feet.

In reality, Liz was preparing for a special moment. As “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri began to play, Liz, adorned in a stunning white dress with intricate silver patterns, prepared to perform.

When the lyrics began, Liz used sign language to convey the words to Scott. Every movement was purposeful and elegant, reflecting the effort she had put into rehearsing this moment.

Scott was completely overcome. Tears welled up as he watched his bride express her profound love in such a thoughtful and meaningful way.

Liz later shared with Love What Matters, “I won’t lie, I was terrified before walking into the ceremony. But the moment I locked eyes with him I never looked away and it was a special moment just between the two of us. He held it together for a few seconds before crying the whole way through the song. He has re-watched the video a hundred times and he still cries every time!”

After finishing her performance, Liz joined Scott at the altar, where he led their loved ones in a round of applause for her beautiful gesture.

Although Scott experiences the world differently, Liz’s heartfelt surprise created a memory he will treasure for a lifetime.
